چکیده

We construct an explicit regulator map from Bloch’s Higher Chow group complex to the Deligne complex of a complex algebraic variety X . We define the Arakelov motivic complex as the cone of this map shifted by one. Its last cohomology group is (a version of) the Arakelov Chow group defined by H. Gillet and C. Soule. We relate the Grassmannian n–logarithms (defined as in [G5]) to the geometry of symmetric space SLn(C)/SU(n). For n = 2 we recover Lobachevsky’s formula expressing the volume of an ideal geodesic simplex in the hyperbolic space via the dilogarithm. Using the relationship with symmetric spaces we construct the Borel regulator on K2n−1(C) via the Grassmannian n–logarithms. We study the Chow dilogarithm and prove a reciprocity law which strengthens Suslin’s reciprocity law for Milnor’s group K 3 on curves. Our note [G5] can serve as an introduction to this paper.

Multiple polylogarithms and mixed Tate motives

from analytic, Hodge-theoretic and motivic points of view. Let μN be the group of all N -th roots of unity. One of the reasons to develop such a theory was a mysterious correspondence (loc. cit.) between the structure of the motivic fundamental group π 1 (Gm − μN ) and the geometry and topology of modular varieties Y1(m;N) := Γ1(m;N)\GLm(R)/R ∗ + ·Om Here Γ1(m;N) ⊂ GLm(Z) is the subgroup fixing...

Polylogarithms and motivic Galois groups

This paper is an enlarged version of the lecture given at the AMS conference “Motives” in Seattle, July 1991. More details can be found in [G2]. My aim is to formulate a precise conjecture about the structure of the Galois group Gal (MT (F )) of the category MT (F ) of mixed Tate motivic sheaves over Spec F , where F is an arbitrary field. This conjecture implies (and in fact is equivalent to) ...

Additive polylogarithms and their functional equations

Let k[ε]2 := k[ε]/(ε2). The single valued real analytic n-polylogarithm Ln : C → R is fundamental in the study of weight n motivic cohomology over a field k, of characteristic 0. In this paper, we extend the construction in Ünver (Algebra Number Theory 3:1–34, 2009) to define additive n-polylogarithms lin:k[ε]2 → k and prove that they satisfy functional equations analogous to those of Ln . Unde...

Periods and mixed motives

We define motivic multiple polylogarithms and prove the double shuffle relations for them. We use this to study the motivic fundamental group π 1 (Gm −μN ), where μN is the group of all N -th roots of unity, and relate the structure of π 1 (Gm − μN ) to the geometry and topology of modular varieties Xm(N) := Γ1(m;N)\GLm(R)/R ∗ + ·Om for m = 1, 2, 3, 4, .... We get new results about the action o...
